From April 20 to 28 ADDA Gallery presents the exhibition “Vilapicina” with brand new works from HONET. The exhibition translates the complexity and richness of graffiti through a diversity of perspectives. The works offer an intimate look at the motivations, process and consequences of this practice often misunderstood. They evoke a theatrical dimension and carnivalesque which links graffiti to popular art, while emphasizing its ephemeral character.
Medieval elements also come enrich this exploration, suggesting a link between the human and the divine. The exhibition thus offers a multidimensional immersion in the world of graffiti, highlighting its artistic aspects, cultural and spiritual.
Born in 1972 in Paris where he still works, HONET stands out as a multi-faceted artist. During his twenty-five years of career as a graffiti artist, he also worked as an illustrator for prestigious brands such as Prada, Lacoste and Louis Vuitton. Passionate about capturing fleeting moments and exploring urban curiosities, HONET offers a unique vision of its universe to through a variety of images, by turns naive and disturbing. The artist approaches graffiti not only as a visual result, but above all as a symbolic and daily act, avoiding any direct representation of this art in its exhibitions. His work artistic thus mixes a Gothic inspiration, reflecting his way of life nomadic, with a romantic exploration of abandoned places and hidden.
